Ascension School in located in beautiful Oak Park, Illinois. Oak Park is just west of Chicago, and can easily be accessed from the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290). Our school is in central Oak Park, one block west of East Avenue at 601 Van Buren Street.

In grades K-8 there are two homerooms per grade. The class size ranges from 13 to 27.
Ascension can accommodate students who have slight learning differences.
Yes, we have two classroom of full-time Kindergarten. Each classroom has a full-time aide.
For children who will be three years-old prior to September 1st of the new school year, we offer two or three day per week options in the mornings as well as a four day per week afternoon class (see Multi Age Program) to meet the needs of our students and families. Children must be fully potty trained before entering school.
Parents enrolling their four-year olds have the option of either 4 days per week or 5 days per week in the mornings or afternoons.
Our Multi-aged Preschool program is the perfect option for families who would like their three year-old in an afternoon class or for four year-olds who may not be quite ready for four year-old preschool. This class meets Monday-Thursday.

Open House is on the Sunday of Catholic Schools Week. In 2019, Open House will be January 27 from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM.

Ascension students are above the national norm in all grade levels tested.
Students from Ascension may choose their local public high school, which for most students is Oak Park-River Forest High School. Many students choose to continue in a Catholic high school; Ascension students attend Fenwick, Trinity, St. Ignatius, and St. Patrick, among others.
Most families at Ascension are members of the Home and School Association, Its members seek to promote communications between parents, students, teachers, administrators and the community as a whole, toward supporting the larger goal of educating the students of Ascension School.
Ascension has a hot lunch program through Food Service Professionals. Families pre-order each month from a variety of hot lunch options as well as salads.
Although the school enrolls students from 17 different zip codes, more than three-fourths of the students live within walking distance. The school welcomes families from Chicago and several suburbs.
Ascension student population is 71 % Caucasian, 18% Hispanic or Latino and 8% African -American, with the remaining students American Indian, Asian or two or more races. (2016)
