Learning Resources

Ascension School is proud to offer a Learning Behavioral Resource Specialist for students in grades 1-8 who are performing below grade level in Basic Skills areas. Utilizing a pull-out/push-in model, the learning resource Specialist provides help in learning strategies in a small group setting. At times accommodations and modifications can be recommended for qualifying students.  This is determined by an individually administered standardized Achievement Test and observations and recommendations from professionals.

Parental permission must be obtained when the staff sees the need to place students in the program.

Mrs. Beth White is the Learning Behavioral Specialist; District 97 staff, including the Speech Therapist, meet with students as well.   Mrs. Flowers and other trained associates see additional students.
