Liturgy of the Word is coming to Ascension this Fall!
Parents of children approximately 3 to 9, we are excited to bring Children’s Liturgy of the Word to Ascension! What is this? At the start of the 9AM Mass, children age 3 to 9 will be invited to go with volunteer leaders to a nearby room to hear the scripture readings in a translation that the Church has approved for their age level. They will sing, pray and discuss the Sunday Gospel in age-appropriate ways. They will return to you during the offertory for the remainder of Mass. We are currently looking for adult volunteers to lead children in this beautiful ministry. We will train volunteers, and provide readings, prayers, and songs each week. Training will take place later this summer. Are you interested in volunteering? Please email Juliette Dols at email@example.com or call 708-434-5894. More information will be coming.
Code, Play Learn- Sphero Sprk+ programming class at Ascension School each Thursday at 3PM to 4PM from 9/7/17 to 10/26/17 (8 sessions) for $120.00 for students in grades 3 to 5
Sphero Sprk+ allows students to explore programming through play. With the SPRK+ we can learn the fundamentals of coding; events, if statements, loops, variables and more. The best part is that the kids can see how their code worked, immediately enabling them to evaluate what they did, what they thought would happen and what actually happened. This Problem Based Learning approach enables each child to develop his or her ability to think creatively, work collaboratively and reason systematically.
Please feel free to reach out to Mr. Mueller with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
