Beginning the weekend of June 13, 2021, and in light of Illinois' phase 5 reopening, the following adjustments have been made to worshiping in-person at Ascension Church. Join us!

  • Masks are not required. Please feel free to continue to wear them at your discretion.
  • You no longer have to register for Masses. We are open to our full capacity.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available upon entry and by our ushers at Communion time. We encourage you to continue this practice but you are not required to do so.  We will continue to have folks to greet you as you enter.
  • Please continue to enter ONLY through the main doors on East Ave. (All 3 entrances to the Church will now be open on East Ave.)
  • Many “red pews” have been changed to “green pews” to be able to accommodate larger numbers, but there are still areas with “red pews” for those who still wish to have some social distancing. If you are not concerned about the need for social distancing, please leave the areas still displaying red tape for those who are more comfortable continuing to social distance as we ease into this new phase.
  • We will continue for the next few weeks the Communion procession pattern we have been using for the past months. Ushers will be available to direct you and to sanitize your hands if you wish.  For now, Extraordinary Ministers of Communion will wear a mask for distribution of the Eucharist.  We request that you continue to receive Communion in the hand.  We will re-evaluate these practices in a few weeks.
  • We are all excited and happy that we have moved to this new stage in our adjusting to the Covid-19 pandemic.  The Staff hopes that all will continue to feel safe in our church environment and we look forward to worshipping with those who have already returned and those who will be returning in the coming weeks.
We recognize that not all in our community are ready to return for in person services and gatherings. Therefore, we continue to offer digital resources and opportunities to gather online.

The following are links to worship resources, parish news, and opportunities to gather virtually:
